A high quality wall regulator dating from the late 19th century, by Kemp Bros. of Union Street, Bristol, a company still in family ownership today (now as jewellers). The mahogany case has a broken swan neck pediment and acanthus decoration to the corners, bevelled glasses to the front and sides. The substantial 8-day movement has arched plates with deadbeat escapement, and Harrison's maintaining power. It has a wood rod pendulum, with polished and lacquered cylindrical brass bob and weight. Well-engraved 8 inch silvered dial with Roman numerals, and signed for the makers. Blued steel hands.
