Woodwork has been prevalent in Rajasthan, India since the 1600s and is seen in palaces and havelis, private mansions, throughout the region. This found bookshelf was handcrafted using a detailed and laborious process. The design was drawn on paper, transferred onto wood using ink and then carved using various chisels. Finally, it was buffed to bring out the wood's shine. This piece makes a welcoming home for collectibles and treasured books.
